East Sussex Fire and Rescue attended a report of a fire in a flat in Marina just before noon.
They called police after it was discovered that the fire was probably caused by a coiled extension lead that was being used to provide power to cultivate around 110 cannabis plants in two rooms.

Enquiries are now being made to locate the tenants of the two flats and to discover who was responsible for setting up the production facility.
Anyone with information is asked to report online to sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal, quoting serial 424 of 14/03.
Police are interested to hear about the tenants and also anyone seen visiting the flats in recent months.
