Urgent appeal for this year’s Littlehampton bonfire beneficiaries
The deadline for charitable causes and community groups to become a beneficiary of the street collection at this year’s traditional bonfire celebrations in the town is fast approaching, with little more than a month left before the cut-off date.
Now, members of the Littlehampton Bonfire Society have issued an urgent appeal for those seeking aid to come forward and contact the organisation before the closing date of Saturday, June 1.

Hide AdBonfire society secretary, Richard Cooper, said: “We are concerned time is now starting to get short for potential beneficiaries to make applications by June 1.”
He added: “We need to know from applicants how much funding they are seeking, what specific project it is for, and how it will benefit the local community.
“We are aware that many organisations are finding fund-raising for their particular projects very difficult in the current economic climate.
“We help fund local projects, so our spectators on bonfire night know that their donations to our collecting buckets will directly benefit the local community.”
