VIDEO: Northbrook College graduates show excitement
This afternoon years of studying have paid off for students across Sussex who will be walking away with their certificates.
Families and friends congregated at the Worthing Assembly in Stoke Abbott Road to see their loved ones take to the stage at the ceremony.

Hide AdGordon Hinks has completed his three year degree in motorsport engineering and technology.
The 38-year-old said: “It was a really great experience. I did it because I enjoy motorsport and I’ve been an engineer for the last 20 years.”
The mature student said there is a lot of merit in studying at a later stage in your life.
Gordon is originally from South Africa but has been living in the UK for the last 14 years and now resides with his partner in Worthing.

Hide AdFashion designer graduate, Helena Juric, 21, said although the workload could be stressful at times, it was very enjoyable.
“I thought it was great. It also has links to Brighton University, so I could use their library,” said the Worthing resident.
Helena attended the ceremony with her friend Dan Moore who completed his degree in fashion photography.
Dan, 24, from London, said: “My course did a bit of everything: fashion, documentary and landscape. I had a project with Sussex Police for their hate crime campaign.

Hide Ad“I’ve now just started my PGCE, so I’ll be doing another year,”
Bianca Woodroffe works at Retro Daisy in Wrawick Street, but also took on a degree in theatre hair and make up at Northbrook.
“The first two years was just wig making, prosthetics, body painting, hair styling and basic make up,” said the 27-year-old.
Retro Daisy will be launching a pop up vinatge hair and make up section of the shop as a trial, which will be a great way for Bianca to put her new skills to the test.
She said: “I feel great today!”

Hide AdAnother mature student, Natasha Bridges, said she did a BA in fine art because it is something she has wanted to do since she was a child.
The 43-year-old said: “But back when I was a kidunless you had perfect grades you didn’t get into college. Doing this is a dream come true.”
Specialising in minimalist sculpture, Natasha said she was really excited to finally get her certificate.
“I think this is the best time to do it because you have got more life expereince to take to the course,” she said.

Hide AdNatasha was joined by her family, including her young daughter Lucy.
Taking on a degree in textile design, 21-year-old Fiona Setford from Burgess Hill was able to learn digital printing and knitting.
She said: “I found it very interesting. I want to work in a design studio.”
