WATCH OUT FOR LOVE-LORN TOADS
Every year hundreds of thousands of toads cross roads to reach their spawning grounds across the entire country.
At some locations like the Litlington and Exceat road near Seaford, hundreds cross from the forest to the flood plains of the Cuckmere River.

As the ground temperature warms up and the ground is more wet, the amorous toads come out of hiding and walk from the safety of the homes to cross roads looking for love.
Typically the toads move at night and normally when it is wet but not too cold for them.
East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service is one of several organisations including the Sussex Amphibian & Reptile Group, who help to move toads out of harms way on which roads.
