In the quarter-finals Jeffery beat Alan Berriman (Forest) 13-8, Rollings beat Daniel Butler (Comptons) 11-6, Mills beat Blackman 9-8 and Alner beat Whale 10-4
The first semi-final matched two of the county’s best young bowlers, both still in their teens, and proved to be a close, hard fought battle with Jeffery just edging out a 7-5 victory.

The final promised to be a very good game and did not disappoint. Neither player could maintain an advantage and they entered the last end level at 6-6.
When Alner came to bowl the last bowl of the tournament he was two shots down but played an excellent shot to move the jack back to his bowls for a count of two and to become the 2016-17 county singles champion – a new name on the trophy.
