Bowls: Lavant still on the move after win at Nomads
Peter Whale’s team had to fight hard all the way. Needing three shots to level the scores, they managed only two.
Peter Winter’s team kept the pressure on all the way and, with only minor blips towards the end, won convincingly by 15 shots.

Peter Massey’s team started slowly and seven shots against on the tenth end put them 17-8 down.
They pulled up over the rest of the game making two shots on the last end to win.

Arun 138 Petworth 115
Arun entertained Petworth’s outdoor bowlers for a six-rink mixed fixture and came out triumphant by 23 shots, winning on three rinks and losing on three.
At the halfway stage, scores were close – but rinks two and four especially forged ahead in the second half to consolidate the win.
Top rink for Arun was rink two, who won by 25 shots.

On mat one, Joan Simmons, Mary Fair, Marlene Steel and skip Brenda Jones led from the start and won 30-9.
Mat two’s Eric Joans, Edna Cooke, Derek Fair and skip Brian Mills also led all the way and won 20-13.
On the friendly mat, Daniel Lovell, Grace Roope, Pam Smith and skip Freddie Kaucher were 19-19 after 18 ends but Good-Woods took five shots and won 27-19.

DONNINGTON
Donnington held an enjoyable spoon drive for club members on November 5 - and it went off with a bang. It was organised by Ron and Margery Beasley.

Hide AdIn the final reckoning, two teams were level, resulting in a three-end play-off.
The winners were Janine Bartlett, Maggie Maggs, Anne Whitney and Brian Aston. Each received a Donnington spoon. They beat June Martinelli, Vic Mitchell, Trevor Wilson and Reg Percival in the play-off.
THE MARTLETS
Jack Rollings of The Martlets club re-asserted himself as the top under-18 in the county when he cruised through the annual national qualifiers for the second year in succession.
Jack (right) emerged from the group stages with four wins and a shot difference of a massive 68. In the final he faced West Sussex premier team member and under-18 England player Jess Hoole of the Slinfold Infinity club.
After a tight start, Rollings emerged with a fine 11-7 win and qualification for the English National Finals in March.
