Bexhill vow to ‘fight all the way’
Bexhill will travel to the Sussex Premier League leaders without key all-rounder Callum Guest and batsman Max Finzel, who has gone to Cornwall until mid-August.
They hope to be boosted, though, by Sussex professional Ashar Zaidi, who missed last weekend’s visit from Brighton & Hove after his partner gave birth.

Hide AdBexhill first team coach Ian Cox said: “Sometimes out of adversity someone stands up to the plate. We’ll be fighting all the way whatever team we take there. We’ll go there and try to win the game.
“We just need a little bit of confidence. If we can get 200 plus, we’ll challenge anyone to get them. The bowling and fielding isn’t an issue.
“The batting is a concern. It wasn’t that we were outclassed (against Brighton), but we were a little bit naive in our batting and shot selection. I just hope we learn from it.”
Bexhill will have the chance to atone for last weekend’s 111-run defeat to Brighton when they host the same opponents in a Gray-Nicolls Sussex T20 Cup second round tie on Sunday. Play is due to start at 1pm.
