Hide AdNick Patterson and Josh Hayward kept it tight without reward, conceding only 23 runs in their eight overs.
This could have been considerably less, without the 49 not out from Daniel Groves to turn it into a competitive total.
Cuckfield started quickly with Brad Gayler (21) and Joe Ludlow (47 not out) putting on 50 for the first wicket.
A flurry of wickets put Cuckfield on the back foot with Alfie Pyle taking 3-23, but Ludlow and Taylor saw the game through winning in 15 overs.

Hide AdAfter a period of rain before the start of play, Cuckfield’s second T20 Cup game of the day, against Roffey CC, was reduced to 13 overs a side.
Cuckfield won the toss and elected to bowl. Roffey batted consistently well, with the opening partnership of Usman Khan (25) and Rohit Jagota (30) putting on 33 before Hayward struck.
Mike Norris (50) continued the good work leading Roffey to 122-4 after their 13 overs. Hayward (2-14) and Sam Candfield (2-25) were the standouts with the ball.
Once again, the opening partnership of Gayler (24) and Ludlow (49 not out) started well with an opening stand of 49.

Hide AdAfter four overs, the rain came again and meant that the game was shortened to just nine overs and a revised target of 85 to win.
This benefitted Cuckfield after the fast start, and the total was knocked off by Ludlow and Jason Oates (eight not out) with two overs to spare.
It was a great start to the T20 competition for Cuckfield, and a good sign heading into the first league game this weekend.
