Sussex paid tribute to their former fast bowler Matthew Hobden before their opening home County Championship game of the season against Essex at Hove.

A tree was planted in memory of the player and team-mates wore shirts with the number 19 and Hobden on the back in his honour. England assistant cricket coach Paul Farbrace was there and is pictured with Sussex captain Luke Wright.

Photographer Phil Westlake was there. See his pictures in the slideshow above.
