Darts: Big names fall, but rivals can't get over the Hills
In the early rounds there were some big scores but missed doubles put some top names out of the competition.
With winter league champions Paula Duckett (Richmond A) and Gary Blackwood (Claremont Cobras) going out in round two, it was down to defending summer champions Carol and Sam Abrehart (POW Z) to carry the burden of keeping their title.

The second semi saw the Abreharts take on Julie English (Friary C) and Roger Hackett (Wheatsheaf).
The Abreharts struggled on their doubles for some of the night, with English and Hackett doing their best to keep up with the scoring.
The match went to all three legs, but the Abreharts went out, meaning there would be new champions.

But the second legs saw a real turnaround.
It was all down to the last leg and both teams got a good start. The Hills made a run for the finish line, with English and Hackett on their heels.
With missed doubles for English and Hackett, the Hills took their time and eventually hit their final double to become the summer mixed pairs champions.
