Darts: Michael van Gerwen lifts crown at Crawley
Wade had picked up the £10,000 title by winning Saturday’s Players Championship at K2 and lined himself up for a memorable ProTour double by reaching the decider 24 hours later.
However, he would suffer defeat to van Gerwen for the second successive Sunday as the Dutch ace followed up last week’s World Grand Prix triumph with another victory over the world number six.
