Hill started the afternoon a point ahead of Needham Market- meaning a win would keep them up. But despite Burgess Hill having more of the possession, they could not find the all-important winner. Meanwhile Needham Market were victorious over Dulwich Hamlet. A result which leaves Burgess Hill in the bottom four.
This is not necessarily the end for Burgess Hill as Farnborough could still be automatically relegated by The FA for financial irregularities- giving the Hillians a reprieve.

Hide AdIt was Tonbridge Angels who had the first major chance of the game when a corner was met by the head of Tom Parkinson which cannoned off the bar and was cleared away by the Hill defence.
Joe Keehan found the back of the net with a good low header but it was disallowed by referee Alex Blake. Seconds later Pat Harding was put through on goal and his shot appeared to be on target before it struck the leg of Sam Fisk. Fisk was involved again a few minutes later when his collision with Charlie Slocombe forced the latter off the pitch on a stretcher. It was not the only injury of the half as Scott Kirkwood was replaced by Darren Budd just before the interval.
Burgess Hill had several good opportunities in the second half which they failed to capitalise on. James Fraser’s attempted overhead kick sailed just wide and Sam Fisk’s half-volley flew just over the bar. It was at this point, with Needham Market leading, that Hill fans knew this might not be their afternoon. Josh James made several excellent saves to deny Woods-Garness and Luke Allen to keep the game at 0-0.
Dan Perry returned to action for the Hillians and in the 85th minute saw his speculative effort fly over the top of the bar. Fans watched on with bated breath as they willed their side on to no avail as the game finished as a goalless draw.
