Crawley Down Gatwick are Mid Sussex Youth League champions
Crawley Down Gatwick were crowned Mid Sussex Youth League champions with an emphatic 6-1 victory at Mid Sussex Blues.
The team had entered the final week of the season with four games to play and four teams still in contention to win the league.

Hide AdVictory over Hassocks was followed by a defeat to Cuckfield Cosmos which left the team needing to win their last two matches.
This meant that victory in the final match would secure the title and the team were in no way to let it slip from their grasp as they raced into a 5-0 half-time lead before seeing out the victory in the second half. Manager Matt Heasman said: “The players have shown gradual improvement over the last couple of seasons, culminating in this seasons finish as champions.”
Lee Blackman finished the season with an impressive tally of 32 goals which also secures him the golden boot award.
Heasman added: “Special thanks to the team’s sponsor Wood Branson Dickinson and to all the parents that have been so supportive throughout the season.”
