Early strikes seal impressive victory at Whitehawk for Borough
Romain put the Sports ahead in just three minutes after smart work by Reading loanee Jake Sheppard and Jamie Taylor, and then Pinney doubled the lead on 18 minutes, with Taylor again the provider.
A stunned Whitehawk side had plenty of pressure but found Borough keeper Lewis Carey in inspired form, while 18-year-old Callum Buckley - newly signed on loan from Premiership Bournemouth slotted seamlessly into the Sports defence.
