The 23-year-old, who initially appeared in a pre-season friendly against the Hawks, has impressed Whittingham during his time at Fratton Park.
And he is eager for the former Stevenage defender to remain as part of his squad.
The Blues boss said: ‘Deadline day is next Monday and Bondz’s contract also finishes then so I am sure something will happen before.

‘You also have to consider the player’s situation.
‘If I am a player I would want to make sure I knew what I am going to be doing before the transfer window shuts.
‘If I know the deal is not going to be extended then I want my agent to find me something else or I’ll find something else myself.
‘Bondz has been excellent, he gets on with his work, he’s like you expect a footballer to be with lots of banter, but he knows when to work on the training pitch and we are very impressed.
