Hills endures frustrating second round
Heading into the Easter meeting at Lydden Hill, Hills was looking to build on his success of round one.
The weather forecast was the big pre-event talking point as Storm Katie was due to sweep across the Kent circuit over the two-day event. Worthing driver Hills did not let that deter him and he was straight down to business. He started from the back of the grid and still brought the car home to finish in third place overall in first qualifying.

In the third qualifying round, Hills made a strong start from pole position and only narrowly missed out on finishing in top spot again by the event’s surprise package Simon Ovenden, who recorded the fastest lap.
The first semi-final saw Hills start from a well-earned pole position and leading the field, he seemed unstoppable.
It was a cruel twist of fate that saw Hills catch up with a back marker and having to take the non-racing line on the long loose corner of Chessons, he span and lost valuable places. Hills then drove brilliantly, though, to finish in second place.
Hills started the final on the second row and made a solid start. He got caught up in a crash on the first bend, which damaged his steering and hampered the handling.

Hills said: “I’m still really disappointed in what could have been. I made a silly mistake overtaking a back marker and it just wasn’t my day.”
The championship now heads to Pembrey Circuit in Wales for a double header on May 1 and 2.
