Hide AdMan of the match George Eldridge powerfully flicked into the corner to make it four, after Saxons had conceded against the run of play.
The win means Saxons could go top this weekend, if results go their way. They still have leaders Brighton & Hove III at home to play, and Cornish insists the side are ready for the home stretch.
“It’s up to us now,” Cornish said. “If we win all of our remaining matches, we’re champions. That starts on Saturday against Horsham III. If results go our way, we might even be top by Saturday night.”
Saxons: Deaves, Cload, Reed, Ford, Orr, Coombes, Eldridge, Stainsby, Burnett, Busbridge, Cornish. Sub: Bunday. For a full report, see Friday’s Hastings Observer.
