On a tough course, undulating for the first half and uphill for the second, Tomlinson took a convincing victory with his excellent time of 36:13.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect on the demanding Heathfield course having just recovered from illness so I stayed off the initial pace. I made my move on the first of many climbs, managed to build a decent lead and was then able to stay away from the field on the long climbs to the finish. It was very pleasing to register my second Sussex Grand Prix win in a row.”
