Trainer in good double form despite freeze
Downs Stables resumed in good form followed the big freeze, despite the heavy ground at the Surrey track. One Cornetto, owned by Carrie Zetter-Wells joined the yard last autumn, putting in an encouraging first run. At Lingfield Park he tackled a shorter distance of two miles in the handicap chase and won by nine lengths with plenty in hand.
He had previously been trained by Carrie's husband, jumps trainer Lawrence Wells who retired from the sport after nearly 13 years with a licence.
