McDonald’s staff help clear litter from Shoreham Beach

Six members of staff from the restaurant at Holmbush Shopping Centre in Shoreham spent the day cleaning up the beach and collected five bags of litter between them.
Carel Venter, the franchisee who owns and operates the restaurant, said: “I’m really proud of my team for giving their time and efforts to do their bit for our fellow Shoreham residents.

The volunteers followed social distancing rules, wore their own PPE and facemasks, and sanitised the equipment before and after the event.
McDonald’s crew members have been cleaning up litter for more than 35 years. The aim is to tackle litter in the community, both by litter picking and reducing the amount of waste its restaurants produce.
