The East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) said the new nursery will provide 55 places a day for children aged four months to eight years whose parents work for ESHT or the NHS.
It will be built using a modular construction assembled on site, at the southern end of the Conquest Hospital site towards Little Ridge Avenue with building work commencing in March.

Jacquie Fuller, Acting Lead Staff Engagement & Wellbeing said: “We are very excited to get the go ahead for our new nursery. This purpose built nursery will improve our facilities and the environment we provide care and education for the children of NHS staff.
“We are rightly very proud of the high standards of care we provide our children which has been recognised in our Ofsted report and we will soon have brand new facilities to match those high standards.”
The nursery was last rated 'good' by Ofsted in all areas, and was praised for its 'well qualified and well trained staff and for the excellent relationship that staff have with parents'.
