A27 reopens four hours after serious crash outside Chichester

A section of the westbound A27 at Tangmere was closed after a blue Ford KA was reportedly involved in a collision with a hedge around 8.50am.
At 10am, a spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were in attendance at a 'serious incident'.

Hide AdA diversion was set up in the area before the road was eventually reopened by 1pm.
According to Sussex Police, which appealed for witnesses to the incident, a man was taken to hospital in a 'serious condition'.
Highways England, which had said the road would be closed for a 'considerable time', confirmed it was cleared at 12.50pm. The air ambulance was filmed leaving the scene at 12.30pm.
Police are urging anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with dash cam footage, to email [email protected] quoting Operation Laker.
