Cat Protection receives a £1 million boost
Cats Protection has benefitted from the first People’s Postcode Lottery draw this month, with proceeds totalling £1,027,744.64.
The funding will be used to support the charity’s vital rehoming and volunteering work, with particular focus on supporting hands-on roles.

Volunteer team leaders support volunteers to provide the best possible cat and adopter experience at the charity’s adoption centres, while cat care assistants are responsible for day-to-day hands-on care for the cats.
This includes feeding and providing enrichment, as well as administering medication and giving additional care to those cats that need nursing.
“We would like to thank all the players of People’s Postcode Lottery whose participation in the draws will enable us to make such a difference to cats,” said Mark Beazley, Cats Protection’s director of operations.

Joel Scott, volunteer team leader said: “It’s great that volunteering and rehoming is going to be so generously supported in this way.”
