A herring gull was found shot dead at Victoria Road South, Bognor Regis, on Saturday.

Voluntary rescuer Becky Brooke, of West Sussex Wildlife Protection, was called out to a suspicious dead herring gull in the area of Elizabeth court. The gull was taken to Fitzalan House Veterinary group in Littlehampton, where an x-ray scan revealed a gun pellet in its neck.

Jaine Wild, secretary of the organisation said: “We are really angry about this, as the same thing happened last year in the same area. Someone is shooting at these birds from their window.”
