End of an era for RyeUnited football club
Football in Rye may be consigned to history after 76 years following Rye United being dissolved.
Rye United chairman Clive Taylor said Rother Council had taken surrender of the lease for the club building on the Salts.
He said: “There is no more football club.
“The saddest part for me is that no-one in Rye seems to care.

Rye United were formed in 1938 and a few years ago hit the headlines when they reached the quarter finals of the national FA Vase competition.
The club withdrew from the Sussex County League following a meeting in March.
