The Healthy Walks in Arun programme is appealing for a volunteer walk leader to join the Littlehampton-based scheme.
The role would see leaders organising slower and shorter walks for those less mobile, with volunteers being asked to spare as little an hour a month.

However, project organisers are hoping that it will roll-out to the outlying villages and smaller communities in Arun, later this year.
Volunteer leaders would need to attend a training day to learn how to lead a safe and enjoyable walk for all ages and abilities.

Hide AdThe aim of the scheme is to offer help to people as they settle back into their homes after a spell in hospital. Volunteers would devise an action plan for them to continue living independently.
Each volunteer is matched with a person for six weeks and would offer them a range of support, from practical help in getting the shopping to simply providing a friendly face to chat to.
