The report concludes investing in renewable technology reduces the cost of energy and the renewable leaders in Europe (the Germans) have seen wholesale energy fall by 37 per cent giving their industries a competitive advantage that the UK government is not following.
The collapse of the steel industry was linked to high energy costs which the DECC appears completely welded to, possibly because unless energy costs rise by at least 100% the new Hinckley Nuclear power station will be an expensive white elephant!

Hide AdIt does not take a rocket scientist to see that if the raw materials for energy production cost, well nothing actually!
The cost of the end product won’t continue rising and if anything will continue to fall as better ways of storing and utilising come on stream.

It does look like the DECC is heading in completely the wrong direction and one has to ask why?
