Pride of place goes to the West Downs Neighbourhood Watch Task Force, which has already attracted bookings for over 20 events this year.
This month alone, the force has participated, or will so do, in the marshalling of three events in Worthing – the Worthing 10k race on June 5, the Night to Remember midnight walk tonight and the Worthing Town Hall Drumhead Service on Thursday.

Hide AdIt was also involved in an emergency leaflet drop in Littlehampton on Wednesday.
Last year, the force was fortunate enough to secure a grant of £5,500 from WSCC’s Big Society Fund.
This money has been spent to good purpose and, as a result, the force’s communication capabilities are better than they have ever been before.
A new aerial and ten waterproof radios are included in our equipage and the aerial was first deployed at the 10k event.

Hide AdIt will also be in use during the Night to Remember midnight walk tonight and, because it ensures better communication with the radios over longer distances, it should go some way towards enhancing security at this event.
The SpeedWatchTeam has completed 111 sessions over the current year and, last month, 19 offenders were identified.
The team now has 30 survey sites and a new, faster, computer system, and is hopeful of obtaining a second camera.
Worthing Neighbourhood Watch held its first Crime Awareness event last month and will be represented at the Worthing Street Velodrome Event in Beach House Grounds from July 2 to 4, with bike marking services being provided over all three days.
