What happened next was the subject of South Bersted CoE Primary School's latest school play.

Hide AdSixty-one of its pupils, aged ten and 11, told the tale of Roger Ravenbeard, his mother and his challenger, Partial Jack Spatula, before two audiences of family members.
They were entertained as the maritime drama unfolded with its cast of brigands and buccaneers and lost and found caches of buried treasure.
