Trio con elderly in distraction theft incident
A man and two boys called at the couple’s home in South Lane at around 10am last Friday (August 10).
The trio managed to talk their way into the house and persuaded the couple, both aged in their late 80s, to show them to a lockup in their garden.

Hide AdThe three were said to have discussed ‘logging’ in the area.
The couple later discovered that three chainsaws and a strimmer had been stolen from the lockup.
Police have said that nothing is believed to have been taken from the house.
Officers are now appealing for the public’s help in tracing the thieves.

Hide AdThe man, who is said to have done most of the talking, is described as white, aged between 20 and 40 years old, 5’8” in height, of average build, with fair hair and a clean shaven face.
At the time of the theft, he was wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt of unknown colour.
The two boys are believed to be aged around 16 years old, about 5’6” tall and of average build.
