Emergency services were called to the fire at a play area in Englefield at around 6pm on Sunday (April 17). A spokesman for the fire service said the floor of the playground was ‘deliberately’ set alight. Police said some play tyres were burnt in the incident and residents extinguished the fire using a hose before emergency services arrived. No injuries were reported. The incident is being treated as arson and officers are appealing for information.
