Who will be crowned the Rye Bay Scallop Queen?

During the evening the band will select the Rye Bay Scallop Queen 2016 and present them with a Pranella Zesta Shell pendant necklace worth £55 provided by The Shop Next Door to the George in Rye.
The weekend is looking to be as entertaining as it is tasty with the Rye Bay Crew performing shanties and songs of the sea at the Queen’s Head Inn on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Hide AdTatner’s will be at Rye Bay Fish and Olde Worlde Wines tomorrow and Sunday, serving up their superb gourmet street food.
Tomorrow morning (February 20) from 10am, Russell Drew will be found at Market Fisheries talking about the scallop industry, performing shucking demonstrations and there will also be a chance to taste their Fisherman’s Scallop Ceviche. The entertainment will continue in the evening, with The Brillos playing at the Cinque Ports Arms.
Meanwhile, Black Sheep will be entertaining the crowds at the Queen’s Head Inn and on Sunday evening Roger Carey and Andy Williams will be performing at the Ypres Castle Inn.
This week saw Ryers Getting their #shelfie on and wearing the scallop crown – we think they look rather fetching.
