A woman has sustained “life-threatening injuries” after she became trapped under her own car in Eastbourne.

Emergency services were called to Pococks Road at 11.53am this morning (June 4), to reports of a local woman run over by her own car while unloading shopping.

Builders working nearby and a passing taxi driver used pallets to try to raise the car, a Renault Dynamic, after the 79-year-old woman became trapped beneath it. They were quickly joined by firefighters called to the scene.
