Search is on for Chichester's young sporting stars
If you know of a local sporting hero or heroes who you feel should be recognised for their dedication or achievements, now’s the time to let Chichester District Council know.
The awards, now in their 14th year, celebrate the success and the hard work of local young sportsmen and women, coaches, teams and volunteers.
The categories in which to nominate are:
Team of the year
Volunteer of the year
Coach of the year
Young person’s commitment to sport
Outstanding contribution to sport
Outstanding sports performance of the year
Youth sport achievement

Hide AdThe final award has been broken down into three categories - there are bronze awards for sportspeople who have represented their district, silver for those who have competed for their county or region and gold for young sportsmen and women who has represented their country.
From all those nominated who are eligible for a gold award, a judging panel will draw up a shortlist which will appear in the Observer and readers will have a chance to vote for the overall Youth Sport Achievement award winner.
Nominations for all categories close on Friday, April 25.
The awards are organised by the council in partnership with the Chichester Observer and Chichester Priory Rotary Club.
Awards and certificates will be presented at a ceremony at Westgate Leisure, Chichester, on Saturday, June 21.

Hide AdCouncillor Eileen Lintill, the council’s cabinet member for wellbeing and community services, said: “This is our opportunity to celebrate the sporting prowess and endeavours of our young people in the community. Please get nominating!”
